The 2019 Tournament Returns

The 2019 Mountain View Open Tennis Tournament returns in May to Cuesta Park with John Togasaki returning as tournament director. The tournament will be held over the course of two weekends. May 17-19 and 24-27. The Fridays of May 17 and 24 will only be used if necessary, and we will do our best to accommodate people's schedules if we have to use those dates due to weather or an exceptionally large number of entries. The tournament is operated by Mountain View Tennis with the help of community volunteers.

This year's tournament is the 51st edition of the Mountain View Open, which started back in 1965. Over the years it has attracted top tennis players from Northern California and beyond to come to Mountain View to compete. See the history page for more info.

The tournament typically attracts large crowds to Cuesta Park on Memorial Day weekend to see the high level of competition during the final rounds in Men's Open Singles, Women's Open Singles, Men's Open Doubles and Mixed Open Doubles. With free general admission, the MVO is an attractive Memorial Day destination for many families with children and local tennis fans. They come to watch some spectacular tennis and also reconnect with past tennis buddies.
